At the Crossing Border Festival 2006, Type Radio performed "War of the Words". I was introduced as the Action And Distraction Designer a.k.a. The Battlefield Reporter. This means that I did my first ever live animation performance, using an overhead projector, protective glasses, a blank transfer sheet and a whiteboard marker. It was interesting and fun, trying to keep pace with the ongoing conversation, drawing and erasing at the speed of thought. Never having had the opportunity to use an overhead projector, I must admit I instantly fell in love with the medium and immediately bought one online the next day. A beautiful top model from 3M, shipped straight from London. Spankin' brand new for a very lovely price, since the OHP surely is no longer in great demand. Now I can't wait to take this baby on tour again! Type Radio is Donald Beekman, Liza Enebeis aka LoveLiza & Underware. They visit design events all around the world, to meet designers and interview them. They have a beautiful archive of podcasts. It contains interviews with many famous designers like Stefan Sagmeister, Peter Saville, Gerard Unger, David Carson, Gert & Derk Dumbar and Erik Spiekermann. Just to name a few.
